Patients - Testimonials

The following are a few of the testimonials received following podiatric services by Maryland Heel Pain Centers.

I am writing you this to say how happy I am that I had the shock wave therapy. I am a 46 year old female that has been a steady runner for the past 23 years. Over the course of the years, I have trained for many races and three marathons. I am one of those crazy people that just love to run. Two years ago I was training for the Baltimore marathon and came down with a severe case of plantar fasciitis. I tried everything: orthotics, injections, exercises, ice and yes, even rest. I was at the end of my rope when the podiatrist I work for said, "Let's give shock wave therapy a try". I was ready to try anything that would let me run again.

I was the first one the practice tried. At first I was disappointed. My doctor kept saying give it time. I started running after about six weeks after the treatment still having pain, but I was able to run. Around week nine I noticed there was no pain when I got out of bed in the morning. Now I am training for the Walt Disney marathon on January 11, 2004. I'm also running with the team in training for the leukemia and lymphoma society. I just completed my longest run in my training and guess what? I have no pain. I would recommend this treatment to anyone. I can't believe insurance companies would refuse anyone this procedure. I even tell our patients if I had to pay out of pocket I would.

Thanks so much. If you ever need proof that your treatment works I'm your proof. I'll update you when I cross the finish line on January 11th. I raised $4,000.00 for the cause and I could have never done it without your help.

Thanks again
Janice Huff

Dear Dr. Senatore:

After two years of chronic plantar fasciitis in my right foot, you and your technicians administered shockwave therapy to my afflicted foot on June 17, 2003.

At the conclusion of the therapy, I promised the medical technician, Cindy, that I would give her feedback on the success or failure of the shockwave therapy. Please tell her the shockwave therapy was an unqualified success!

Prior to the shockwave therapy, I had tried daily stretching, daily icing, anti-inflammatories, acupuncture, massage, a cortisone shot, and new shoes - all of which were ineffective in ameliorating or eliminating the fasciitis.

With the local anesthesia, I was surprised by how painless the shockwave procedure was….After about thirty minutes of shockwaves directed to the painful part of the heel, the therapy was complete and I was able to walk out of your office and drive myself home.

It is now some three weeks later and I have resumed my normal activities of long walks, an occasional long distance run, and golf without any discomfort whatsoever.

Many, many thanks to you and Cindy (and to the shockwave therapy machine) for the relief. It is greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

G.D. Edwards
